You are never too old to learn new tricks. The palette knife painting workshop with Leslie Saeta was an excellent experience. I have used the palette knife in a very limited way in the past but it will be a more regular tool for me in the future. Thanks Leslie!
Thank you to everyone who followed my Thirty Dogs in Thirty Days. It is always a good exercise, exciting to begin and a relief to be finished!
It's September, time for thirty paintings in thirty days again! This year I've taken a different approach. Instead of asking friends to send me their pictures, I met and photographed each dog myself. Some dogs were more cooperative than others but I like the mixed bag of poses and expressions I ended up with. Everyone I spoke with was so nice to allow me to photograph their dogs, thank you all for agreeing to be part of this project!
I'm having fun experimenting with the techniques I learned at a three-day workshop with Dreama Tolle Perry. http://dreamatolleperry.com Using transparent oils as the base of a painting really makes the final colors pop. And painting with Dreama was such a treat, she is just lovely.
The Thirty-Paintings in Thirty Days was such a good experience for me. I feel as though my work has improved from the experience. It is nice now to be able to take my time and paint a little larger.
Halfway through the challenge and over two-hundred artists are still posting daily paintings!
I have joined Leslie Saeta's "Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days" challenge. Three hundred and forty-two artists will create over 10,000 paintings during the month of September. You can see everyone's work here: http://www.lesliesaeta.blogspot.com/
I'm hoping this challenge will jump-start my painting which has sadly taken a back seat to a busy summer. And now the fun begins....
