Work was called off for the blizzard, 24.8" of snow with high winds, gusts up to 60mph. I'm still recovering from pneumonia so I was very happy to spend the day painting. Pupicek is my favorite subject. Going on 16 years old he is happy to pose for long hours in a warm spot.
I still find black dogs the most challenging to paint. This guy was a little more difficult because the photo reference was taken in low light.
The thirty day challenge is going on again this month and I have to say, I am happy to be painting at my leisure.
In keeping with the New Years resolutions it is good to start on day one by posting a painting I am happy with. Whenever I need a boost of confidence I always go back to the dogs. It's fun to explore other subjects but it is the dogs that flow more easily from my brushes.
Now about those diet and exercise resolutions, one good day down, 364 to go...
