Here we go again, the Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days challenge! Last year I painted some dogs from photos friends had sent me. This year I am trying to meet all the dogs and photograph them myself. Last weekend in Provincetown I was able to photograph 15 lovely dogs so I'm halfway there. Next weekend I am off to Martha's Vineyard and hope to photograph the rest. Thank you to all the dog owners who have allowed me to photograph their pets and thank you to all the dogs, some of whom were more excited than others about having their photo taken.
I think about the design and crop the photos to the square format of the painting in advance so my subjects are all posed ready to go. Hopefully I will remember all their unique personalities and true coat colors so the paintings will ring true.
My order of thirty canvases and fresh tubes of paints have arrived. I really can't wait for September 1st so I can begin painting!
