![]() I previously identified this pup as belonging to my son’s college friend, but I was wrong. This is Bess who belongs to an old HS friend. Bess was a particular challenge because the photo was not in sharp focus and she is an all black dog, but I just loved the pose too much not to give it a try. I have come to accept that the black dogs I paint will actually be blue or purple dogs. Would love to hear from others who have had success painting black dogs, there are a few more in my thirty-day lineup!

This painting is so sweet. The values you used in the face look great. I really like how you grouped your values to make large sections of each value instead of a bunch of patches. This painting really stood out among all those posted on the 30 day challenge today.
